Our trip to Milan is over, and honestly, it was one of the few trips I was genuinely excited about. Usually, I try not to think about everything that could go wrong, but this time I just couldn’t help myself. I was looking forward to it from the very beginning.
Both flights went smoothly, although comfort isn’t exactly the first thing that comes to mind when flying with a low-cost airline. Still, that was more than made up for by our hotel. It was clean, modern, and very comfortable. The breakfasts were exactly what we wanted, and we had our first dinner in the hotel restaurant.
And I have to say, I’m a proud mom because I’ve successfully taught my daughter to enjoy steaks. We can finally add another new food to our list. 😊 Even though we didn’t spend our first day exploring the city and chose to relax instead, I still consider it a wonderful day.
The following day was dedicated to the Stranger Things event. The entire experience was amazing, and all the extra activities were absolutely worth it. At the same time, I couldn’t help but feel a little sorry for the actors. For two days straight, it was basically: stand here, smile, take a picture, next person. Yet they remained kind, patient, and professional throughout.
We came home with our dream photo and autographs, and those memories can never be taken away from us.
The next day, we headed into the city center to do some sightseeing. We didn’t manage to see everything we wanted because my daughter was already quite tired, but we still had a lovely day. The funniest moment? We actually stood in line just to get into Starbucks. 🙈 I’ve never experienced that before. There was even a bouncer controlling the entrance. 😂
We visited the Duomo, Leonardo da Vinci’s Museum of Science and Technology, and several beautiful landmarks around the city. Overall, it was a very pleasant and relaxing day. That evening we took it easy, and on our final day we didn’t rush anything. We simply made our way to the airport and headed home.
Now let me tell you about the moment that became the highlight of the entire trip for me.
When my daughter was taking her photo with Noah Schnapp, she was supposed to leave once the picture was done. Instead, she gathered her courage and asked him for a hug.
And of course, he said yes.
But this story isn’t really about the hug.
It’s about the courage she found within herself. It’s about speaking up, expressing what she wanted, and asking for something she truly wished for. You have to understand that she was so nervous before meeting him that she was literally shaking.
And yet she did it.
That is why I consider this moment so special.
People often dream about things. They have wishes, goals, and hopes. But many of them never find the courage to ask. They never take that small step that could lead them to something wonderful.
My twelve-year-old daughter found that courage.
And she took that step.
In that moment, I was incredibly proud of her.
For her, it was one of the happiest moments of her life because she got to hug her favorite actor. For me, it was one of the happiest moments because I saw my daughter overcome her fear and ask for something she truly wanted.
And I believe that ability will take her much further in life than any photograph or autograph ever could.
