Lately, my life has been shifting—slowly, but undeniably—towards a place I knew I would eventually reach.
Everything that led me here had its role to play.
The separation. The divorce. Moving into a new home. Even a change in my role at work—same place, same team, but a completely new direction.
And somewhere in the middle of all of this, I realized something important:
I need a reset.
Not a dramatic one. Not a perfect one.
Just a reset that actually works for me… and for my daughter.
Because the past weeks—months, really—have been emotionally exhausting. And I can feel it. Not just mentally, but physically too. It showed up everywhere.
But here’s the thing about me—I’m a realist.
I try to see things from multiple perspectives, not just one. And because of that, I can hold two truths at the same time.
For example:
The divorce is, in many ways, one of the most positive decisions of my life.
And yet… everything around it has been painful.
Still, choosing to move forward instead of staying in something that no longer worked—that was one of the best decisions I could have made. Even if it hurt me. Even if it hurt my daughter. Even if it affected people around us.
I truly believe that one day, we will all find our peace.
I can’t speak for my daughter’s future feelings—but I hope that when she grows up, she will understand. That she will see this not as something that broke her world, but as something that ultimately protected it.
Because the truth is—what we had was far from a truly happy relationship.
And that matters.
So… here comes my May Challenge 🌿
I decided that if my life is changing, then my daily routine needs to change too.
And I’m starting with the basics.
1. Food – Not a diet. A relationship.
My eating habits lately?
All over the place.
Some days I barely ate.
Some days I ate a little.
Some days I ate a lot.
No structure. No balance.
So I decided to change that—not through dieting, but through nourishment.
Let me be clear:
I am not a “diet person.”
I don’t want restrictions. I don’t want rules that make me miserable.
I love food. I truly enjoy it. For me, food is not just fuel—it’s an experience.
So my goal is simple:
Eat regularly. Eat well. Eat food that is both nutritious and genuinely enjoyable.
I’ve been reading books by nutrition experts, learning how to build meals that give my body what it actually needs—without sacrificing taste.
And here comes the practical part:
Meal prep. (Yes… the famous “box system.”)
Cooking 2–3 times a week, preparing meals in advance, and simply reaching for them when needed.
It’s simple. It’s efficient.
And honestly—it feels freeing.
No more standing in the kitchen every day for hours.
No more “I don’t have time” excuses.
Just good, homemade food—ready when I need it.
I started on May 1st.
Today is May 3rd.
And I’m taking it step by step.
2. Movement – Back to myself
This has always been my pattern:
I start strong.
I stay consistent for a few weeks.
And then something happens—and I stop.
And getting back? That’s the hardest part.
So this time, I’m building a system that supports me—even when life gets messy.
Because life will get messy.
My daughter might get sick.
Plans will change.
Energy will drop.
But that doesn’t mean everything has to fall apart.
So the plan is simple:
- Strength training
- Cardio (running included)
- Yoga or light movement for balance
Nothing extreme. Just consistency.
Because I actually love movement.
I just need to stop treating it like an all-or-nothing situation.
And yes… I have a goal.
I want to run a marathon.
I didn’t make it before turning 40—but that doesn’t mean I won’t.
If I stay consistent, I truly believe I can get there in the coming months.
Maybe it will be just one.
Maybe more.
But one thing is certain—I want to experience it at least once in my life.
3. Mind – Feeding my soul
I am a book lover. Always have been.
Reading grounds me. It calms me. It brings me back to myself.
So one simple rule:
At least one chapter a day.
No pressure. Just presence.
And here’s something new…
I’ve started writing my own book.
It will be a collection of short stories—pieces of life, moments, emotions.
And no—it won’t be just sad or heavy.
Yes, some stories will carry pain.
But many will be light, funny, real, and full of life.
Because that’s what this whole journey is about:
Transformation.
Realizing that moving forward is not just an option—it’s the only way.
And that a positive outlook on life is not something forced…
It’s something we choose.
This is my May challenge.
Not about perfection.
Not about becoming someone else.
But about slowly becoming myself again.
And this time…
I’m doing it differently. 🌿✨
