My First Experience with Sound Therapy

Yesterday, I had a truly wonderful evening. As I mentioned earlier, within our Facebook group we planned our very first meet-up—and the theme was sound therapy. For me, it was something completely new, yet it sounded fascinating. And in my current situation, I feel very open to new experiences, especially those that might bring more harmony back into my life.

Sunday was the day. My daughter spent time with her dad, so I had the space to focus fully on myself. The session took place in the studio of one of the group’s founders, who is also a therapist. From the very beginning, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. There were five of us altogether—three from the group, two regular participants, and the therapist. We were all on the same wavelength, and it felt incredible to meet complete strangers and instantly feel a connection.

Each of us had our own story—some similar to mine, some very different. But all of the women radiated strength, warmth, and positivity. Despite the hardships they had faced, they weren’t broken. Instead, they were open, smiling, and full of life—thanks in no small part to their children. That gave me hope and motivation, reminding me that soon, I too will feel truly well again.

During the therapy, we lay down on mats, covered ourselves with blankets, and put on eye masks. The therapist guided us gently, creating sounds with Himalayan and crystal bowls, as well as other instruments. It was unlike anything I had experienced before—at times almost paralyzing, as though my body stayed behind on the mat while my mind traveled elsewhere.

After just one hour, I felt as if I had rested for a full eight-hour sleep cycle. For someone like me, who struggles with sleep, that was an incredible gift.

At the end, we each drew a tarot card. Mine was the Christ card, with a message: focus on your path, follow your purpose. For me, that purpose is clear right now—to walk the road toward happiness, harmony, and peace. For myself, and for my daughter. It all felt beautifully aligned.

I’m sure this won’t be my last sound therapy session. I’ll consider attending more, maybe even individually—and perhaps one day, my daughter will join me too. If you ever have the chance to try sound therapy, I encourage you to give it a go. Even just once. You might be surprised at how deeply it helps.
